Here's what we were working with - a corner lot in Buckley that had no real driveway to speak of, overgrown beds, and a front yard that just wasn't doing the property any favors. Corner lots are tricky because there's a lot of visible square footage from two street-facing sides. Every detail gets noticed.
We started by clearing everything out and getting the grading right. That's the part nobody sees, but it's the part that makes everything else work. Good grading means proper drainage, a stable base, and a finished product that actually holds up over time. We brought in a compact machine to move material efficiently and keep the site tight and controlled.
The gravel driveway went in first - clean crushed stone laid out to give the lot a defined, functional parking area right away. It's a low-maintenance surface that drains well and holds its own even through wet Pacific Northwest winters. And with the mulched beds taking shape alongside it, you can already see how much structure this space is starting to have.
Concrete is next, along with sod to finish out the yard. Those two elements are what's going to tie the whole thing together - hardscape and softscape working side by side. That combination is what turns a bare lot into a finished, polished property. We do this kind of full-scope hardscape work because it gets better results than piecing it together with multiple crews.
We'll be posting the final reveal soon. The difference between where this started and where it's headed is pretty significant.
